Just for Once

Your magic surprised me
Your silly jokes made me laugh
Your smile made my day bright
Your voice kept me alive
You told me stories
Your stories transformed me
You vanished in thin air
Silence is eating me alive
My soul is passing away
My body is becoming remorse
Can I hear your voice?
Just for once?

Oh, the romance of a short meeting with someone that lingers. I've had a few of those moments that made quite the impression though I never saw the person again. 'Tis bittersweet for certain, but they make for sweet memories.

Thought provoking, or it is to me. I sense loneliness where perhaps once was a life full with laughter.
Beautifully written with deep feeling.

Why allow ourselves to become so emotionaly dependent?Yes,we are human...thats nice... painful
Silence is eating me alive...

I enjoyed the contrast you utilized. It worked well setting up the second portion. Change, especially surprising change, often does hit us unexpected. Nice piece, thanks for sharing:)

Real darker turn there at the end, would be nice if life would throw these meetings together more than once.

Very beautifully expressed here, my friend... it leapt at me from across the screen!!!

I hear the longing of love, those sweet moments turn bittersweet with loss. Lovely poem.

To me, this has a profound sense of longing, especially the end.

Nicely done!
